7A   !!!!! AAAACareer Exploration Unit Each student will select a unique occupation on which to report to the class. The information for the report must be gathered from the career center as well as an interview with someone (other than a family member) employed in that occupation. Each report will consist of a written report and a presentation to the class. A class presentation must be made by the end of the Quarter. Class presentations will be made on Thursdays only and your written report must be submitted the day before you are to present. In order to make a presentation, you must sign up within two weeks of the date you are to present. Once an occupation has been reported on it may not be repeated. All students will keep a Career Notebook containing information (job description, math needed, etc.) from each presentation and the Career Presentation Evaluation Forms. Your written report must include: Job Description: Specific tasks performed, specific math related tasks special vocabulary or tools, level of education or training required, and salary scale/ wages (entry level to with experience or education). Two different examples of how math is used within this occupation.
